Hi, I am new to karting in phoenix. Is anybody running dd2 class here? can you practice at pkra if you become a member?

There have been a few DD2 entrants in the past, but currently are not running. Yes, members can practice any time the track is open. If you wanted to race the DD2, then you would be entered in with the other shifters.

I would suggest attending a local club event to see what is running on a normal basis locally to help that guide your decision. Trends of classes and equipment are different everywhere and the mainstream media paints a somewhat utopian picture of what karting can be on a national level.

Keep an open mind and visit local shops and the track on racedays to really see what the PKRA and Arizona reality is prior to making any decision.

PKRA is very open to what is available and offers great racing in all of the classes with close and fair competition.

We welcome you to come on out and give karting a try.

Bob we have a DD2 we would race more often if there were more of us. We get put with the shifters when we do. DD2 is fast enough to catch the older slower shifters but not the younger faster ones :P
