This Sunday-Wild Horse Pass East Track is an alternative for the WF, Tag and Shifters Drivers.

Slightly bigger track than PKRA and no walls...

You practice for 20 min at 1:30 and 20min at 4:00 on Sat. Sunday then 2.5 hours between sessions. Seems like a lot of sitting around doing nothing.

Mike,
Have you ever road raced? We don't want to any take karters away from any PKRA/Tucson venues but just offer another style of racing karts at higher speeds.

The Proautosports group, staff, and corner workers really takes care of the (purple) kart group. Very professional and racer friendly with everyone. Timing and scoring is done by Proautosports with individual print out lap times after every session.

Many of our karters have competed on the sprint tracks all over the country, including PKRA.

Our class rules and structures are similar to any East/West karting organizations, but without the pressure of tire rules, fuel, and oil mandates.

Any kart with proper safety equipment is able to compete for a trophy or bench racing beer after the events. All karts are on the race grid by qualifing times. It's great to see 250's 125's tag's 100's and WF battle someone somewhere at each corner or straight.

We also have an 1hr enduro race with pit stops and driver changes if necessary. It's just another way of racing karts.

At one time we had 40 karts on a grid. We hope to get back to that status as does PKRA...anyway

Sincerely,
Gino (older PKRA member with family racing many years ago)

p.s. long days at track but always a good day!!!

The format is actually alot like a day at the drag races.

Run for 10 seconds, then wait around for a few hours to get another run.

The Southwest matters group is a fun bunch of guys Hartman sprint e driving their karts fast. Over 100mph at the Wild Horse Pass tracks.

Sunday is really the only day that people go out there to run. 4 of the 20 minute runs at about 1 minute laps makes for a pretty good amount of fun. A totally different sensation of speed than sprint racing. I would say don't knock it til you try it.

It is a fun venue to run on off weekends. Allowing you to have alot of fun without having to travel away for any time.

We're always open for entries right up until the race starts, but you'll probably want to get there sooner. The gates open at 6:45 but you don't need to be there that early. First practice is at 9:30, and ProAutoSports is very good at being on time. The pace of the event is different than Sprinting. Some like it, some don't. It's not the cheapest racing out there, your first day will cost you around $150. But remember that is the total cost, there is no charge for any other people you want to bring. Just sign the waiver and come on in. We do expect you to behave yourself, this is a race track after all. In fact even if you don't want to race come on down and check it out. There are lots of pretty cool cars to see while you're there, you might even be able to talk some of them into a ride along.

A link to the daily schedule is here:

We're the Purple group.
