It seems to me to make more sense to use the LO206 as an engine package for Juniors instead of the World Formula. As a Cadet the LO206 looked pretty quick to me this weekend and the support for the Junior WF was pathetic. Why ask Mom and Dad to cough up more money for a different engine when their driver moves up from Cadet to Juniors. Seems like a no brainer to me, please tell me what I am missing here.

Not that much difference in price. When you turn 16 you just keep racing your WF as is. Your observation of the new to this area WF Jr. class seems short sighted to me. In reality both packages are close in performance but what the spectator observes and what the racer experiences are completely different.

Not much difference in price??? You miss the obvious point Bernie, the Cadet already owns the LO206. If they move to Juniors with the same engine package there is no increase in cost. Also in case you hadn't noticed the club is losing the racer that turns 16. They are not moving up to the Senior classes, they are leaving karting. Are we just trying to sell more motors???

The WF Jr. class was inserted into the show because the largest group of Jr. 4 cycles in the region was in Colorado and they run WF Jr.. Personally I could care less which engine is used as they are both great packages. The WF just provides a more spirited ride. Both options are out there for that age group, the racers should decide the way to go. Being in the business I can tell you that LO206 is a lot easier to support from my end, not really the racing experience I prefer when compared to the WF.

Back in September the board made the decision to dictate the class structure at PKRA and they decided to mandate WF as the Junior class option. I'm sure the BOD wishes to attract as many new racers as they can with this class structure. For the purpose of promoting and keeping karting as low cost as possible it seems to me that the LO206 makes more sense as the Junior package. Just like Rotax, it seems that it would be easier to sell the idea of committing dollars to racing if the same engine package was used from ages 7 thru 15. I would be interested in promoting and sponsoring the LO206 as the Juniors engine package at PKRA.
