Looks good so Far..
Only issues I see so far is:
feb 2. This is Superbowl day and The Waste Management Phoenix Open Golf Tournament.

How many drops?

Super Bowl Sunday may be a problem, i think this came up last spring also. I have proposed to the board of having a double header in february, the 15th and 16th, weekend before CofA. I think it could b a big weekend if we do it, draw out of towners who would be willing to travel for two races instead of 1, all while getting ready for CofA, opinions?

These are some date options put together to create a viable non conflicting schedule for the 2013 fall/2014 spring Sunday season that is consistent, easy to remember and works around other events.

We can and should run 10 races with 2 drops.
(Then those who want to run other stuff, do not give up much and can run for a PKRA club championship)

We can run it consistently the 1st and 3rd weekend of the EVERY month EVERY time.
(Making it easy to remember)

It gives the oppurtunity for PKRA to be more profitable during the best times for weather in karting.

It also does not conflict with the Rotax Challenge of the Americas, SKUSA, Prokart Challenge, The Briggs race, and the possibility of an enduro in late December.

Here is the dates. (All SUNDAYS)
Race #1 10-20-13
Race #2 11-3-13
Race #3 11-17-13
Race #4 12-8-13
Race #5 1-5-14
Race #6 1-19-14
Race #7 2-2-14
Race #8 2-16-14
Race #9 3-2-14
Race #10 3-16-14

This allows for 2 drops. No rain make up date, and consitent strong runs.

History tells the tale.

When there are more races, there is more membership. If you look at the last few years, we have had fewer club race events, and have seen the numbers of attendees follow that lead. But yet still be profitable.

When the membership grows, the club thrives and markets itself via word of mouth.

There have not been any races where the club did not profit from a club race event in the 22 years that I have been running at PKRA. NONE.

(Curtis: Here is the dates. (All SUNDAYS))

Race #1 10-20-13 (Same as Proposed schedule) good
Race #2 11-3-13 (Same as Proposed schedule) good
Race #3 11-17-13 Questionable.. People are packing up or gone to Supernats the next day.
Race #4 12-8-13 (Same as Proposed schedule) good
Race #5 1-5-14 seems good, Unless PKC has this as Race one.. They are holding all events on first weekend of each month.
Race #6 1-19-14- week Before COA Tucson. Many Rotax racers will be in Tucson testing
Race #7 2-2-14 (Same as Proposed schedule) conflicts with superbowl and Phoenix Open Golf Tourney
Race #8 2-16-14 (Same as Proposed schedule) good
Race #9 3-2-14 SKUSA PROKART Challenge race 1or #2 ( I believe)
Race #10 3-16-14 seems fine

Plus, with 2 drops, the racers can choose. It is a win/win for everyone.

Please send your comments to directors@pkra.com for consideration as we move forward to finalize the Winter schedule. This is a painstaking process for the directors and we appreciate your input.

I’m freezing this post and request that you send your suggestions and comments directly to the Board.
