Posts: 1381 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | The forum guidelines have been adjusted to better serve the members of PKRA. Threads that do not serve the club members will be removed. There are several ways that a thread can harm the members of the club and become subject to removal. Chicken Little syndrome: That's when someone takes some real or imagined piece of information and adds enough wrong assumptions to come to a false conclusion that if they had been true would be of great concern to members. It may be funny when something falls on a person's head and they think the sky is falling. It's not funny if they falsely think the theater they are in is on fire and cause people to be trampled when they yell it out. Attacks or disrespect of any kind: ALL club and forum members will receive respect from anyone posting in these forums. If you are overwhelmed by emotions or do not respect someone and can not keep things civil, stay away. Nobody will be put in a position of either spending time defending false accusations or letting them go unanswered. This is a very common problem in forums. The person who shouts the loudest and makes the most posts will not dominate the forum. Topics that by their nature can not be resolved or moved forward via forum discussion: That would include complaining about just about anything that already happened. If you have a problem with another forum member, call them or send them an Private Message. If you have a problem with an action the club took, bring it up at the next club meeting. Feel free to mention you have a concern that you want to discuss at the meeting and you can describe that concern, but you can NOT try to blame anyone for your perceived problem. In the past we have just locked threads of these type but left them visible so others can learn from the originator's mistakes. But that can leave current members with a bad taste and potential new members deciding they don't want to associate with the people making such posts and, by extension, the club in general. The loss of existing or potential members harms the club and its members by reducing the number of competitors to race against and making fewer members pay for the fixed costs of running the club and races. We recently had a thread regarding SKUSA cancelling races at PKRA that was inappropriate on all these accounts. It was the first thread to be removed. Lets hope we can avoid the need to remove others. You may say that some of these guidelines are subjective, and they are. Moderators will decide which side of the line posts fall. Even a dog can tell if you kicked him or tripped over him and I'm at least as smart as most dogs. | ||
