Location: Glendale, AZ. | I have been asked to pass along this information. My wife bought me the Rusty Wallace Racing Experience! 12 lap "Shootout" package for this coming Sunday, 11/25/2012 at 10:00AM at PIR in Avondale. Here is what it involves.
Driver Orientation of about an hour, then suit up and the in the car, "Using an in-car radio, the instructor guides you out onto the track behind the pace car for your "warm up laps". They'll work with you and the other students on accelerating, braking, passing, and finding your fastest line. (These laps are used to warm-up the racecar, and to get you comfortable and up to speed as quickly as possible. Warm up laps are the first 4 laps of all driving packages.)Once your drills are finished and you're given the green flag, you can pass the other drivers, and as your confidence grows, the instructor’s guidance helps increase your speed with each lap. Safe and secure, you’re free to enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime thrill of driving an authentic race car."
Several people have asked if they can come out and watch (I'm thinking hecklers), but friends and family may attend.
You will enter the track at the main entrance on Avondale Boulevard. Immediately turn left and sign in with the track at the guardshack. Go through the tunnel and follow the signs to the parking area, and check in at the white trailer on pit road.
