| Thought the last thread was getting too long.
Thought it be nice to have a thead on who & when may be practicing for a particular upcoming race, and
to get an ideal of expected participation in races.
Sounds like for Saturday 7/31 am practice so far:
Curtis (+)
Anthony (+)
Owen (-) not available until actual race day 8/7
Expected Race #1 Participation 8/7/2010 (Saturday) (as of 7/29/10)

A belated response to your post, Eric Micheau #6 will not be able to make it to the first race today, however we do intend to participate fully in the remaining races and practices.

| Where were all the kid karts?
Saturday race 8/7/10's turnout was a bit of a disappointment.
Despite the turnout, Owen & Josiah had an exciting final race right down to the finish. They had fun racing and fun hanging out!
Reviewing old posts, it seems the following are potential seasoned kid karters:

Keith, a few of those kids have moved up to cadets (jackson and Christopher), or got caught up in the politics and drama of PKRA's Tech problems (i.e. Bobby and Mason)... and some have just decided not to race.
Three of the kids (Carson Enright, Anthony Willis, and now Wyatt Wyllie) race at the regional and national events, which generally are a priority for them over club races. They have all become good little drivers. For the Kid Kart class at the IKF Grandnationals, Enright won the screaming eagle award for being the fastest qualifier, Anthony is the Grandnational Champion, and Wyatt podiumed. So, you are right. 3 of the top 10 Kid Karters in America train or race at PKRA.
However, this last weekend only Wyatt raced at Santa Maria while Enright and Anthony decided not to race because the next day was the first day of school. Carson races depending on whether he and his karts are in Cali or AZ. Wyatt is at most PKRA races. Anthony will not race again hereat PKRA unless the new Board of Directors make some serious changes.

| My son, Jacob (kart #2), will be start racing again begining in September. We'll be out there just about every Tuesday night and either Saturday or Sunday mornings between now and then... He's been racing since fall 2009. My Daugter, Kiersten (kart #22), may start her first race in September. We'll see how she progresses over the next few weeks.
So, we'll see you out there pretty soon! |
