Does anyone think that having some feedback from the tech guys after a race day would be helpful? If perhaps there was some form of feedback of the common things found during pre-tech and post tech inspections, it might give other's a chance who might unknowingly have those same issue's on there karts a chance to currect them before the dreaded DQ happens. No need for names. Just info on what was found to be in error and what to look out for? Examples: "kart rear axle to wide exceeded max width" "Helmet found to be not snell Rated" " "motor cc's out of tolerance"

The tech committee new Race Director Team just implemented new forms that record the details of every DQ. I have access to them and will summarize them in the Points thread for future races.

For the March 8 race, I did not get one of the forms, but for the others the list is below.

Some were in qualifying or a heat. Only ones in the main will show up in the points chart.

Kid Kart - CCs were not correct.
HPV2 - Several clutch spring heights were out of spec
HPV2 - No Horstman logo on clutch drum
HPV2 - Under weight
Senior Sportsman - Intake tract too short
TaG Masters - Rear track too wide
TaG Masters - Wrong tires (Mojo)

I think that all being tech'ed should be told what pill was drawn &/or what is going to be checked. I had not been in tech for 10 years and made it clear but was not told anything except I was shown when we didn't pass CC but not shown the proces that led up to it. We had to make 3 seperate trips to get tools after being told 3 different things to do to get ready for inspection at 3 different times. If they knew what was going to be done & told you all at once & not one thing at a time you could be better prepared & it would take much less time. I'm sure they are doing the best they can & apreciate their efforts. Hopefully someone can take charge & streamline the process a bit better. My never apart new at Christmas engine failed the CC check & now I can remedy that.

I like the idea of publicising tech DQs, without names. As Brian said, it could avoid some unintended pitfalls. The new DQ forms are a result of the new Race Director team identifying areas of miscommunication and inefficiency. Expect things to continue to improve! Robert, if you have specific ideas of how the process can be streamlined from your perspective as a "customer" let us know.
It's not a bad idea to have a "tech toolkit" in your pits which you can grab at a moments notice which contains the basic tools usually needed in tech. I'm sure Ron could suggest a list. As far as I know, the driver or one mechanic is allowed to be present in tech when they do their tests so you could have observed the cc test.

cheers
Barry

I have found out after post tech that I should've been watching closer. Maybe on the pill draw let all involve watch & then let us know what we will need to do. I know they did more than CC check & intake manifold check but not sure what the other check was but it consisted of a rod in spark plug hole (not dial caliper) & possible intake port size check. It would be nice if what they're going to check is announced to the teams so we could get the correct tools all at once if we don't have them with us. Thanks for listening & the more I learn about the process the better. A lot of my problem is just not enough experience. . .

We did not have the hortsman logo and our springs were 1/1000th off so we were DQ'd. Not complaining rules are rules, but Brian I think you bring up a good point that others can learn from this and not have the same happen to them. It's not an excuse but I just didn;t know, I didn't even know how to take off the clutch.

Agree. Not a tattultail report of who and what. Just the what so we can learn. Most of us do our own post tech

I guess the DQ's were serious infractions if no one is sharing info.....

The DQ's were not post tech, they were because of situatons before tech. They were racing incidents on the last lap and after the finish.
